Zack St.Onge joins LFR for 2019 season

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – COLUMBIA, S.C. – (March 1, 2019) – California native Zack St. Onge has become the latest competitor to join Lee Faulk Racing and Development.

The 17-year-old from Upland, Calif., is scheduled to contest select CARS Tour events in addition to selected NASCAR Whelen All-American Series races on the East Coast in a Lee Faulk Racing-prepared late model stock car.

St. Onge will make his Lee Faulk Racing and CARS Tour debut during the season opening Solid Rock Carriers 300 at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, N.C., on March 9.

“I’m so excited to make this announcement and to join Lee Faulk Racing,” said St. Onge, who tested with Lee Faulk Racing a few weeks ago at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway before signing with the team. “I got the chance to test with them recently at Hickory and it went really well. They’ve got top notch equipment and just having the chance to drive for them means everything to me. This is going to be a great season, I just know it.”

St. Onge began his racing career in quarter midgets and bandoleros, where he earned multiple victories. When he was 13 he transitioned to the Southwest Tour Truck Series. Despite not being able to compete at all the tracks due to age restrictions, St. Onge finished sixth in the 2015 series standings and won the Southwest Tour Truck Series Rookie of the Year Award.

The following season St. Onge ran the full Southwest Tour Truck Series schedule, capturing the series championship as a 14-year-old. He also began his super late model career that season before transitioning to late models full-time in 2017, where he raced regularly at California’s Orange Show Speedway and Arizona’s Havasu 95 Speedway.

Last year St. Onge completed his first season of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competition in California. In 35 starts at Irwindale Speedway and Kern County Raceway Park, St. Onge earned four victories in a late model and ended the year ranked 50th overall in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Division I National standings.

St. Onge also earned top rookie honors at Kern County and Irwindale. He finished second in the late model standings at Kern County and third at Irwindale and was ranked third in the California NASCAR Whelen All-American Series standings. He’s also made three NASCAR K&N Pro Series West starts during his young career.

Lee Faulk Racing and Development’s Michael Faulk is excited to welcome St. Onge to the team.

“Zack did a great job when we brought him to Hickory to test,” said Faulk. “He really absorbed all the information we gave him and did really well each time we sent him out. After the test I spoke to his dad, Michael, and they had decided they wanted to see how they stacked up with the CARS Tour.

“We’re excited to have Zack and his family become a part of our family this year and we can’t wait to get started on March 9 at Southern National.”
